We are delighted that Cashel is hosting the 22nd EU Charter and on behalf of the organising committee of Cashel Art Trail we wish to extend a warm welcome to visitors from home and abroad.

Over the course of the next week (Sat 25th June-Mon 4th July) several local artists will be displaying their work across Cashel.  Like so many towns across Ireland, Cashel has recently seen the closure of several shops, pubs and restaurants. However, thanks to the generosity of the owners of some of these temporarily vacant properties, we will brighten up the streets with galleries in Cantwell’s bar and The Book Nook along with window displays and garden sculpture in Mikey Ryan’s pub.

The main idea of this event is to bring together local artists of all ages and at different stages of their career to show the diversity and creativity of the people of Tipperary.  There is no focus on any particular form of art but rather a variety of media, including photography, painting, sculpture, installation, digital print and video.  This art trail promises something for everyone.  We invite you to explore the streets to see the local talent on display and hope that you have an enjoyable stay in Cashel.

The Dunamaise Arts Centre will open its third Open Submission exhibition with the new name ‘level’ on Friday 17 June featuring work by selected artists. An exciting new development in the Dunamaise Visual Arts programme, both in its approach and its curation, the exhibition features 28 pieces which have been selected by guest curator Bernadette Madden. The artists exhibiting include Cora O’Brien, Brendan O’Flaherty, Bernie Masterson, Bennie Reilly, Conor Walton, Aoife Barrett, Stephen Lawlor, Joe Dunne, Bridget Flinn, Mary Burke, Eoin MacLochlainn, Lorraine Walsh, Joe Dunne, Cora O’Brien, Myra Jago, Paul MacCormaic, Heidi Nguyen, Maria O’Brien, Angela Fewer, Eileen Mills and Balazs Keresztury.

An overwhelming and impressive number of applications were received earlier this year, both from established artists all over Ireland, as well as local and emerging artists.  The 28 pieces exhibited will be of mixed media and sizes by artists from the length and breadth of the country.

Entry to the exhibition is free and all members of the public are invited to the gallery to take a look at the work.

In conjunction with this six artists exhibited their work in the windows of Brown Thomas, Patrick Street, Cork. For this project I altered my 'Favela' installation to suit the space. Below are some images of my work in the Brown Thomas window.
